AMVLET Technologies Ltd. (AMVLET), the entity responsible for the SCOVR platform, is engaged with FaceTec Inc. (FaceTec) to enhance security and prevent fraud on the SCOVR platform. FaceTec provides remote biometric identity verification services, which ensure that users cannot create multiple accounts or use fake identities. The use of FaceTec's services promotes the trustworthiness of users who are active on the SCOVR platform and may interact or enter into communications with you.
With the use of FaceTec, we will collect the following personal data from you: (i) your facial image and selfie (also referred to as '3D Face Map'); and (ii) personal data included on your identification documentation, such as your photo, name and document number. For the processing of these personal data, AMVLET qualifies as the 'data controller' and FaceTec as its 'processor' within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
AMVLET ensures that your personal data is processed in accordance with the requirements of applicable privacy legislation, including the GDPR. This means that we will only process your personal data to the extent required for identity authentication and verification purposes, and that the storage and retention is kept to an absolute minimum with a maximum retention period of 5 years. We will only retain your personal data for a longer period if required to comply with our legal obligations or in case of legal proceedings. Access to your personal data is limited to persons who have a need to know and FaceTec who provides the services on our behalf.
We will not transfer your personal data to countries outside the European Economic Area, and we have implemented adequate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk (e.g. we use encryption, pseudonymization and/or unreadable proprietary formats).
As the facial images constitute biometric data (which is a so-called 'special category' of data under the GDPR) we will only collect this information if you have given your prior explicit consent for the use of FaceTec for authentication and verification purposes, and for the limited storage of your picture. We note that consent is voluntary and you are free to declare or refuse it.
In accordance with applicable law, you have several rights with regard to your personal data. For example, you have the right to withdraw your consent to the use of FaceTec at any time. When you withdraw your consent, no further use will be made of the personal data which is collected through FaceTec. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of the use of the personal data before withdrawal, but may have an impact on your continued use of our application or website.
